Features and BenefitsThe PicoScope PC based oscilloscope takes advantage of the power and versatility of your desktop PC, laptop, or notebook computer. It utilizes the high speed USB 2.0 (1.1 compatible) port for fast data transfer and since its also powered by the USB port there is no need for an external power supply or batteries. The PicoScope Automotive oscilloscopes includes PicoScope Automotive Software which makes setting up the scope easy and includes example waveforms with notes and technical information on the topic. For advanced oscilloscope users PicoScope Automotive Software allows full control over scope operations, custom measurements, a built in spectrum analyzer and meter. It is easy to save, share, print and recall waveforms and waveform storage is limited only by the size of your hard drive. The PicoScope Oscilloscopes with the PicoScope Automotive Software is also available as a kit which includes an assortment of leads, clips, probes and current clamps or you can create a custom kit with any of the accessories in our website at a discounted price. Capture large and complex waveforms with ease The PicoScope is for serious Technicians and Diagnosticians, it has been designed to deliver a superior waveform for analysis. Through a powerful combination of sample rate, buffer size and 12 bit resolution the PicoScope's can deliver the most complex automotive signals with breath taking clarity. The 32MB Buffer allows long captures of complex signals at high sample rates. When a signal is captured the areas of interest can be zoomed in (up to
1,000,000 times) to reveal the detail of the waveform. This feature is especially useful when looking for intermittent problems and trends.
Fast and easy to useJust plug the PicoScope oscilloscope into the USB port on any standard Windows based PC, load the supplied PicoScope Automotive software and then simply select the component/system to be tested from a drop down menu. The software will automatically configure the scope for you as well as give you advice on what the waveform should look like and general technical information on the item being tested. Connect the necessary test leads/sensors to the PicoScope and you're ready to go. In the workshop or on the road — the choice is yours
The PicoScope oscilloscopes are powered directly from the USB port of your computer eliminating the need for power leads or battery packs, and making the PicoScope suitable for use both for workshop-based and mobile automotive diagnostics. A complete automotive diagnostic solutionThe PicoScope oscilloscopes are available separately, or as part of the 4 Channel Automotive Oscilloscope Kit. The 4 Channel Automotive Oscilloscope Kit contains all you need to test and measure virtually all of the electrical/electronic components in the modern vehicle — all in an easy-to-carry case that protects your kit and ensures you never have to search for that elusive test lead, clip or probe. PicoScope Automotive SoftwareUsing PicoScope Automotive is both fast and easy. Simply select the sensor or circuit to be tested and the software will automatically load the required settings and give you full details of how to connect the scope, along with advice on what the waveform should look like and general technical information on the component being tested. PicoScope oscilloscope software has been popular with automotive users since its launch, its ease of use, automated measurements and the ability to save and print waveforms have all added to its appeal. For the Automotive Diagnostic Kit an extra drop down menu has been added to the original PicoScope software. The Automotive menu contains a list of the different sensors and circuits that can be tested with the Pico Automotive Diagnostic Kit. When the subject of interest has been selected the PicoScope software will automatically do a number of things:
- A reference waveform will be loaded into PicoScope
- A reference topic will be loaded. This shows you how to connect the scope, gives advice on what the waveform should look like and gives general technical information on the component being tested.
- The required settings (trigger, timebase, voltage range) for PicoScope will automatically be loaded, eliminating the need to spend time setting up PicoScope.
With over 50 different reference topics on vehicle components and systems included as standard, using PicoScope Automotive is both fast and easy. PicoScope Automotive is supplied as standard with all Pico Automotive Diagnostic Kits and can be purchased separately by existing owners of Pico pc oscilloscopes. A demonstration version of PicoScope Automotive that requires no Pico hardware to work is available free of charge.
